Late 80s Trivia Needed: Help Add to the Event Entertainment
Here is your mission should you choose to accept it: We need 80s trivia. Ideally between 1984 and 1988, with a preference for 1988 (go figure). No real limitations from a content standpoint. School related or current events from the time are all fair game.
So here is what we're thinking... we're not planning to have an MC or any formal announcements during the reunion itself. However, we thought it would be cool if we had some "background entertainment" while we're all having a cocktail or two. To give you a taste of where this could go, we've cobbled together a quick sample above (Note: If you're reading this in an email, you most likely cannot see our arts and crafts. Please go up to the website to see it in action). If we get enough content, we'll have this run prior to the slideshow -- kinda like all those lovely ads that run before a movie at the theater.
Submit your 80s trivia: Send us your questions (and answers) today!
How to submit trivia? Easy. Just go to our contact form and select "Trivia for slideshow" as the subject. Then of course give us the question and the answer in the comments section. If you're coming up with a multiple choice, please give us the alternative choices too.
Sound like fun?
Send in a Family Picture (aka: How to Keep Your Spouse Entertained at the Reunion: Tip #1)
Are you having a tough time talking your significant other into joining you at the reunion? Well, let them know that there will be things to do beyond listen to you reminisce with your friends about hanging in the quad or jumping the fence to go out to lunch your sophomore year.
Send in a family picture
We would love to have current pictures of all our classmates with their children/families to feature on photo boards at the reunion. Not only will we all get a kick out of seeing everyone's family, but it will also give our spouses something to do as they walk back from the bar.
Please submit one family picture by September 15, 2008 in order to be included.
101 Down, 508 to Go
Becky (Clift) Haines was the 100th fellow class member to place a marker on the ETHS Class of '88 "Where Are You" map. Cool that there's over a 100, but we can do better, right? Do you still have contact with anyone from our class that may not have placed a marker on the map? Well, tell them to get up to ethsclassof88.org and mark their location on the map. And of course, please keep those pictures coming!
Almost 100 and 100 (Markers and Pictures That Is)
In addition to nearly 100 pictures now up on the ETHS Class of '88 reunion website, we are only 10 markers away from hitting the 100 marker milestone for the "Where Are You" map. Pretty good. But hey, that is still only a little better than 15% of our graduating class.
Do you still have contact with anyone from our class that may not have placed a marker on the map? Well, tell them to get up to ethsclassof88.org and mark their location on the map. And of course, please keep those pictures coming!
Please Use Snail Mail for ETHS Class of 1988 Reunion Registration

While we seriously doubt anyone's personal information was compromised, your trusty reunion crew would like to strongly suggest that you not use Creative Reunions website for registering for our reunion and instead, send in your registration the way we would have done it way back in 1988... yup, good ol' US Postal Service.

ETHS Class of 1988 Map Passes the 50 Marker, Um... Mark
Earlier this week, Monika (Stoll) Auferheide became the 50th El Toro High School Class of '88 grad to place a marker on the "Where Are You Now" map. If you haven't place your marker on the map, it is really easy. Just head over the the "Where Are You?" page and fill out the form. All contributions are updated about once a day.
Or for more information, check out this page on the website for a bit more information on how to add your marker to the ethsclassof88.org website.
Discounted Picture Scanning Service for ETHS Class of 1988 Grads
The ETHS class of '88 reunion crew has worked out a deal with scandigital.com to provide all of us discounted rates for the scanning of pictures and slides. Just when you thought you'd never be able to email around pictures of those proud moments of you and your friends with Aqua Net induced hairdos. Well, now you can.
How it works
The service is very straight forward. You go up the the scandigital.com website, create an account, place your order. Then you send off your prints, slides, or photo albums off to them. They will then carefully scan all the pictures, then package up everything and send your originals back to you along with all of the images on a CD or DVD. Pretty cool. Here's a chart from their website giving you the details:
What's the discount?
Good question. All orders placed through scandigital.com for the ETHS class of 1988 are eligible for a 10% discount. When placing your order, include: “classof88” for the coupon code (see the picture below).

Any other way to save a few bucks?
Yup, there is. If you live in the greater LA, Orange County area, they provide a free pick-up and delivery. Check out the map below for the service coverage area.

See a larger map be clicking here or on the map above
We hope you'll all find this to be a useful service. And if you do choose to take advantage of it, of course we'd really like to have you forward some of the pictures to us so we can include them on the ethsclassof88.org website as well as show them at the reunion this October.
50 Pictures and Counting
It's great to see that we hit 50 so fast, but let's get to triple digits this month. How can you help? Easy. Just head over to the contact us page and attach your pictures (please be sure and select "I have pictures to contribute" before uploading!).
If you have a lot of pictures to contribute and don't want to upload them one at a time (we don't blame you), please let us know how many you have and we'll figure out the best way to get 'em up on the site.
